Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Yomo Shop ("Yomo", "we", "us") operates an online marketplace based in the United Kingdom that lets individuals and small businesses ("sellers") list pre-loved and new items for sale to other users ("buyers"). Yomo is not the seller of any item listed on the platform — sellers contract directly with buyers. Yomo provides the technology, payment processing, escrow and dispute resolution layer.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract under UK law to use Yomo Shop. By creating an account, you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date. Sellers may be required to complete identity verification (KYC) before receiving payouts.

3. Listings

  • Sellers are solely responsible for the accuracy of titles, descriptions, photographs, price and condition.
  • Items must be legal to sell in the UK and owned by the seller or sold with the owner's permission.
  • Prohibited items include weapons, illegal drugs, counterfeit goods, stolen property, live animals, hazardous materials, and anything restricted by UK law.
  • Yomo may remove any listing at its discretion, particularly if it violates these Terms.

4. Buying & payment

Buyers pay through our secure payment processor (Stripe). Funds are held in escrow until the buyer confirms delivery, or until the auto-release window (typically 7 days after delivery confirmation) expires, whichever happens first. By placing an order, the buyer enters a direct contract of sale with the seller. Prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable.

5. Selling & fees

Sellers receive payouts net of Yomo's platform fee and Stripe processing fees, released to their connected Stripe account after the escrow window. Yomo reserves the right to update fees with prior notice on this page.

6. Shipping

Sellers must dispatch items within 3 working days of payment unless otherwise agreed in messages. Shipping costs and method are shown at checkout. Risk of loss passes to the buyer once the carrier delivers the item. Tracking information must be added to the order where available.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: circumvent fees by completing transactions off-platform, harass other users, post misleading content, scrape the platform, or attempt to access any system or data that is not yours. Breach may lead to account suspension and forfeiture of pending payouts.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yomo's liability for any claim arising out of use of the platform is limited to the platform fees we received from you in the 12 months before the claim. We do not exclude liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law (including your statutory consumer rights).

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time from Profile → Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to consumer rights to bring proceedings in their country of residence.
